Want a ceremony that brings out the playfulness you feel around your partner? You need a celebrant!

As your wedding celebrant, I’ll be dedicated to creating a ceremony that brings you joy. A ceremony that enables you to express yourself and have fun, so you can truly enjoy the moment and the company of your chosen guests. I’ll help you reject traditions that don’t fit, and we’ll find or invent ones that feel like home.

A Giddy & Gay ceremony is one where your emotions can run free, and you’re allowed to be your fullest, boldest, loudest selves. No rules, no limits. Just your magnificent love for each other, celebrated authentically. Because when you’re this serious about your person, you deserve a ceremony that’s been crafted just for you – where you can really shout about what they mean to you.

At the core of each ceremony is your love story, told by me with warmth. There are plenty of other delightful details a ceremony can include, from handfasting rituals to exchanging D&D dice, from singalongs to shots.

It doesn’t matter if you have no idea where to start or if your vision is clear as day already – what matters is your desire to mark your commitment with a personal and meaningful ceremony. The rest is what I’m here for.

You too can exchange D&D dice as part of your ceremony!

Meet Holden (they/them) - your award-winning Giddy & Gay celebrant!

I’m a queer, nonbinary independent celebrant based in Southwest London, but I’m ready to travel to the ends of the earth to celebrate your love story (or just, y’know, up North)!

I’m proud to be an award-winning celebrant:

  • Quirky Wedding Awards 2025 Inclusivity & Accessibility Winner

  • Quirky Wedding Awards 2025 Highly Commended Trailblazing Celebrant

Holden’s Headlines (aka fun facts about me):

  • Food lover constantly on the lookout for new restaurants to visit

  • Dopamine dresser with too many (or not enough?) Lucy & Yaks in their wardrobe

  • Travel enthusiast already planning their next holiday the minute they get home from a trip

  • Massive nerd who thinks it’s not a real party until board games are involved

  • Frequently nursing a book hangover & prone to go on about how whichever book they’re reading at the moment is the best book ever

  • Published author of two queer YA novels, shortlisted for multiple awards

About me

“Holden was friendly and attentive throughout the entire planning process, and had helpful advice every step of the way. They encouraged us to incorporate our favourite things into their script, which ultimately wound up with a very fun, very silly ceremony with lots of laughter.”

I became a celebrant first and foremost because I wanted to help other LGBTQ+ folks who might be alienated by the idea of a traditional ceremony. This will forever be a space where queer love and joy are treasured and affirmed, and where trans and nonbinary identities are embraced.

That said, you absolutely don’t have to be LGBTQ+ to work with me – I welcome all to-be-weds who share my values and who can say a hearty “hell yeah!” to the following:

  • Making sure your ceremony is inclusive and accessible for everyone present

  • Daring to be different, to question traditions and throw them out the window if they don’t suit you

  • Focusing on what makes you happy on your big day

  • Being open to sharing things about yourselves with me, so we can co-create a ceremony that truly shines with your light

What do you reckon? Keen to hop on board the Giddy & Gay agenda?

Hell yeah, let's chat!

“If you are looking for a celebrant in the UK that champions love and joy, part of the LGBTQ+ community, and a celebrant who will go lengths to truly honour and celebrate you as a couple, then I highly recommend Holden. Seriously, stop looking now and just reach out to them. You won't regret it.”
